Slaughtering a few dozen small furry things to make a status symbol that's entirely too expensive is senseless and cruel. When a cow is killed, the entire thing is used. The meat becomes food, teh skin beomes clothing, the rest becomes sausage and Slim-Jims. As far as I know, a mink is not eaten (although it probably tastes like chicken) and if it were, it would be a negligible amount of meat.
