Going through breakup is a type of grieving. You are grieving the loss of a friend, lover, relationship, and all the hopes and dreams that you had for that relationship. You can expect to feel anger, depression, denial, and everything in between. Allow yourself to feel this way and even record your thoughts in a journal should that be something you enjoy. Putting your emotions and thoughts into words acknowledges them and allows you to see what is going on inside. Take time for yourself and don't ignore the emotions. Once you acknowledge how you are feeling it will be easier to move on to the next stage of working through grief. Before long you will be past it and will look forward to your next step in life.
