This could be trouble if it's your valve and you rev it high enough for it to switch over to the high cam profile- - - if the valve chooses that moment to die, it would mean that it would not go back to the low profile, which means your idle will be crap at best. I'd grab a copy of the helms manual for that car and run all the recommended tests. That'll highlight the bad part.
