try Efnet servers they have thousands of servers
type this in your status window /server efnet.vuurwerk.nl to connect to the server then /list in your status window again it will list every channel on that IRC server once the list has finished scroll through the list a find which channel you would like to join and right click on the particular one and select join and your set
PS: Make sure there is over 50 or so people in the channel otherwise you'll be lucky to get anything at all
