its pretty common that as people age they start sleeping less soundly. It may be that she used to a little and you just slept through it.
I have also heard that vitamin deficiencies, particularly B or Iron can do it. Maybe she should try some Iron supplements. I have also heard that exercise can help. I know this is all "try clean living" advice but thats more or less what I know.
Oh, also if she is taking coke, speed, crack, or any of the prescription variants (Ritalin, Adderal, ect) that might be doing it.
