"cult of personality" rocks, and i really like the vernon reid's playing, but i wasn't able to get into "vivid" as a whole. i bought it 7-8 years ago and thought it had too strong an 80's vibe (for lack of a better description) in terms of production and songwriting for me to take seriously. what's their later stuff like? i know most consider "vivid" to be their peak, but is that simply because it was where thier commercial success was?
