Oakland will be back next year - their pitching is too good not to make the playoffs. As for Tejada, he won't be back unless Oakland uncharacteristically shells out some money. So I can see why he was a little upset.
However, the retalitation mentality in baseball has gotten ridiculous. We live in a sports world where a second-string NFL wideout makes a five yard first down catch with his team down by three touchdowns and jumps up and gesticulates as if he just saw Jesus reincarnated in front of his very eyes. If MLB players can't stand to have a little celebration at hitting a homerun or getting a series winning stikeout then they should retalitate - by actually winning the game the next time out.
