I can't believe you just said that - took the words right out of my mouth. It's really sick to see all the empty seats during September - and even more sick to see the empty seats during the opening round of the playoffs. We'll see the empty seats in both Florida and Atlanta. I have never been to a postseason baseball game - my Indians had a nice run, but tickets were always beyond my reach.
I went to Ebay today and looked up tickets for the playoffs for the Cubs. A pair are going from between 500 and 1000 dollars.
You can go to floridamarlins.com and get playoff seats for nine dollars.
You can go to atlantabraves.com and get playoff seats for eight dollars.
What are people in Florida and Atlanta doing that they can't spend less then ten dollars a seat and be able to say they saw the best players in the league go at it in the 2003 playoffs? That's the kind of game where you save the program and ticket stub.
Anyhow, sorry for the rant, and congrats to the Marlins. I am glad to see some of baseball's younger stars getting a chance to be the focus of discussion. This should be good for the game.
