When I was at the dyno a few weeks ago, an '87 Z with the 3.0 V6 TURBO (yes turbo) put down 153 HP to the wheels, and an '88 turbo put down 160 HP to the wheels. Looked and sounded like a clean/healthy car...sooo..........
I wouldnt but any Z before 1990 for the exact reason of shitty power-to-weight ratio. Not to mention the fact that with a car that old, you can pretty much bet on having to replace EVERYTHING, suspension-wise anyway...
The 1990+, turbo or not, are much nicer/faster/cleaner/ and usually in better shape.
