geez, where to start.

well, any Z from nissan in my opinion is worth having. They are made with a pleasurable driving experience in mind, they handle well, they are quick, and they are luxorious.

The problem with an 87 300ZX is the power to weight ratio. unless you are getting a turbo model, the car is only putting out something like 150 HP. it also weighs a buttload. If you ever want to make it a weekend warrior, you would need to put it on a nice diet program.

If I were you, I would just wait around for a turbo model. Or puy a Z32 TT. ;-)

When I was at the dyno a few weeks ago, an '87 Z with the 3.0 V6 TURBO (yes turbo) put down 153 HP to the wheels, and an '88 turbo put down 160 HP to the wheels. Looked and sounded like a clean/healthy car...sooo..........

I wouldnt but any Z before 1990 for the exact reason of shitty power-to-weight ratio. Not to mention the fact that with a car that old, you can pretty much bet on having to replace EVERYTHING, suspension-wise anyway...

The 1990+, turbo or not, are much nicer/faster/cleaner/ and usually in better shape.

Just my $0.02

My Bro had a non turbo manual 85. He sold it in 2000. It was still in great shape when he sold it.
