I can make my Marshall sound like anything I want it to. the important thing about buying an amp is that you get a GOOD amp. Not a 150 dollar Crate that sounds like ass. Next time you go amp shopping, take your guitar with you. Playing on your own guitar is crucial in amp selection, trust me (us? I'm sure there are others here who agree). Then, when the salesman approaches you, tell him to 1) get you an amp cord, and 2) fuck off. Guitar center employees are usally pretty good about this, and only bug you when you ask for it. In short, quality amop= more versatility. FYI, Mesa Boogie amps suck a fat donkey nut for cleaner tones.
