If owning that car is that important to you, what's the problem with spending another $60?

If it's a financial matter, you're going to be in for a shock the first time you need parts for that car, I'm afraid. It's going to cost you many times more than what you paid for it to keep it running. If that's going to put a strain on your finances, selling it back to them right now might make sense .

If you think it's an ethical, or legal matter - perhaps they incurred some costs while obtaining the title? Just the fact that they're willing to buy the car back from you suggests they're trying to be fair - they could just as well have said, "$60 - take it or leave it." Although - we all know that having the car <i>and</i> the title makes the whole package a lot more valuable.

Doesn't seem like a very big deal to me - pay the $60, and next time:
Get it in Writing

Sounds like it's still a pretty sweet deal for $360.
