Need advice on situation
OK my fellow TFP'ers I need some help.
About 4 months ago, I bought a car from a junkyard around here for $300. Everything was good on it, except the title. So I bought it, with the understanding that they would do whatever they could to get the title, as they said they would.
Fast-forward four months, they finally got the title. But now, they want me to give them $60 for the title, and they said if i dont want to do that, they will buy the car back from me.
Heres is where the legal side gets sticky. Legally, the car was never theirs to sell, because they didnt have a title, or a possesory lean. they sold it anyway, and i still have the receipt, so legally you would think, they are obligated to give me the title. But, I dont know if that is true or not, I am not very good with legal matters.
The car is a fairly rare car, a 1980 Datsun 280ZX 2+2 Hardtop, and selling it back to them is not an option for me. But I cant register or insure the car without a title. So please, give me any advice you have!!
