well, if its taken Tadgh Kennelly a few years to be one the best players in the AFL (imo) then Irish amateurs are fantastic.
iīm surprised that more Irish players havenīt come down under to play professionally in the AFL league (where money can get bloody good). the games are quite similar, and good players can adapt quickly.
perhaps Kennelly is just paving the way.
in the international rules comp, well, i used to think that Australia would walk all over the Irish, but having seen the Irish beat us, then i donīt think there is any difference in talent or ability. the fact that gaelic players are amateur only raises my opinion of them.
