(Sometimes one word says all that needs to be said).

Possibly we could all vote on whether or not each and every entry has meaning or value. Then we assign a numerical value to each post.

Only those posts rising above the trigger value get counted. Of course there should be a method for disagreement, possibly involving voting again.

Maybe we could have the MODs create a board of worthiness to oversee complaints.

OR

We could just not worry so much about this crap and concentrate on the community.
