Thread post limit!
I understand that there's no easy way to do this, but I find it quite annoying when users have replied 100-300 times in a single thread. Oh, it doesn't bother me if the replies are useful to the thread or consist of more than 1 word, but in some threads (most in the Tilted Nonsense Section) there are users who have replied dozens if not hundreds of times. The game threads are a good example. Here at Tilted Forum Project, we're rewarded with certain privileges by posting, but I can honestly say that I've put more time and effort into my posts (even though I only have about 400) than some people with over 1000.
It just gets on my nerves to see the same person reply 15 times per page on the "What are you listening to right now" thread or when people become overly active in the game threads. All it takes is one word to participate in the games, so a few posters enjoy posting 25 replies per day in that game thread. Maybe those threads can be changed by a moderator or admin to not count for posts? I guess I could simply overlook it, but I hate seeing other users with more privileges than me simply because they played a game for a week with one-word replies. Any comments or suggestions? -Lasereth

Though the problem there in lies is, should we classify the entire Titled Nonsense Forum as giving no post count whatsoever? A little harsh and kind of takes their (the non-sense posters) motivation away. But not a completely bad idea.... (leans back in chair and ponders)

No, I'm saying that the moderator or administrator for that section can determine which threads are classified as "cheap post count increaser." Then only that thread would be tagged that way. I know it probably isn't allowed in this type of code (well, maybe...check out the TFP Charter, no replies and no views are accounted for), but it seems like this is the only way to do it. I mean damn, one thread over there has 5,000 replies. That's a lot of free-loaders getting 250 posts damn easy.

What, that's crazy!
That's really ridiculous! I think people who do that are crazy, I mean, it's one thing to play an online posting game, but what are you really trying to do when you post 25 times in a single post? Besides, that is, get access to porn? I don't know if there should be a posting limit, especially because some longer posts remain interesting into the 400th post or whatever However, when people do stupid shit like i'm doing now, that's just a pain. *moderator's edit: it was cute, but don't do it again. *

Listen...just trust us. We take care of these things. That dosen't necessarily mean the posts will disappear - especially in nonsense, where the games would be entirely thrown off.

in other words, we treat nonsense with all of the brevity and importance that it deserves in relation to your posting history. as belittling as it might sound, we've got this sucker under control, it's okay to go about your business [/officer barbrady]

ACK!
(Sometimes one word says all that needs to be said). Possibly we could all vote on whether or not each and every entry has meaning or value. Then we assign a numerical value to each post. Only those posts rising above the trigger value get counted. Of course there should be a method for disagreement, possibly involving voting again. Maybe we could have the MODs create a board of worthiness to oversee complaints. OR We could just not worry so much about this crap and concentrate on the community.

Has anyone thought of having only the first post for a member in a given Nonsense thread applied to the post count and all others after that disregarded? If it's possible it would encourage participation in Nonsense and discourage those who want to bulk up their post count. Just a thought.
Personally, I like to post in Nonsense for the fun of it and not give the least bit of tought to my post count. Edited for clarification

OK....things are taken care of....for the last time. We have our ways of making sure that the situations are taken care of. Most of you don't see it, but we have our ways. If there was a better way that was reaonable to implement, it would have been done already. So, again, just trust us.

It may be taken care of, but there's still people who have 15-20 replies PER PAGE in some of the Nonsense section threads. These are one-word replies. What's the use of a post count if it can be increased to 250 in one thread?

I enjoy the game threads , It s fine with me If you want make it so those posts don t go towards your count, really who cares if they have 211 or 240 posts.
But the games limking and stuff is a lot of fun it would suck to see that stuff stopped. On some of those threads I probably have like 5 or 6 posts but the thread has like over 1000 posts already, just once in a while ill add a word and such to be a part of the game.
