This was a hot laps day for VSCR (
http://www.vscr.org). They let anyone on the track though. Its more or less a fun day for all of us.. Last day of the season to get out and have fun. I didn't even run slicks, just street tires. I didn't setup my timing equipment so I'm not sure who was running where but I have run with Brian (Z06), Adam (Benz) and Danavine (RX-7) a bunch. We all run darn near the same times at MHSC (minnesota hwy safety center). If we go up to BIR then the benz and the RX7 start to fall off. The Z06 has more up top (150+) than my car does so yeah... so he pulls a bit into turn 1.
This was the first time though I could get some one ou to the track to take pictures. I didn't really care where they were, just some action picutres; I have paddock pictures from the last 3 years, don't need any more of those.
The open wheel car runs in VSCR as a Formula Ford (FF) and would qualify for SCCA vintage. It is a hand resored FF from 1971(?). Awesome looking car and he was the fastest one out there that day. MHSC is a smaller track and really favors cars that turn - unlike my big american pig
As far as I know he doesn't autocross the car. If your going to AutoX it there are acutally open wheel classifications (in the LOL region anyways). I would call your local region up and ask them how they do it.. .Seems like very division is differnt.
Post some pictures of the beast, vintage rocks!
