well, if you poms were more like the americans, would that mean you'd stop playing cricket and rugby - and start playing baseball and gridiron?
hope not - who would we turn to to beat?
and what would happen to Neighbours if the brits gave up their obsession for that shitty street in Melbourne for say, that Friendly apartment in New York?

imo, NO the British should not be more American.
