If you have a Smith and Hawkings nearby, the people who work there are well versed in orchids. At least in the one near me they are. My cousin bought an orchid from them (damned thing was over $50), and I've never heard anyone so knowledgeable about a plant before.
As I understand it, orchids are very particular about watering, sunlight, and fertilizer. Too much maintanance for me
