Hold up people. Max Kellerman and Brian Kelley were both ringside and both scored the fight for Mosley. Both said repeatedly, if you watched it on television, you will think Oscar won it. Oscar landed more, but Mosley landed better.
And all of the judges agreed on the scorecards.
Remember two things before you start crying conspiracy:
1. Mosley landed the harder, cleaner shots. This is not easy (or impossible) to see on television, but is much easier to see in person.
2. Fights are NOT scored on the basis of the whole fight, but on a round by round basis. All judges agreed Mosley took more rounds than De La Hoya.
This is boxing. If you as a fighter cannot force a decision within twelve rounds you leave it to the judges. This is nothing new.
Montana, if you think a great match-up like this constitutes a black eye on the sport of boxing, I'd hate to hear what you think about lesser bouts. This was a good fight (I must admit I watched the ESPNNews round-by-round coverage during the fight - not the fight itself - they had it for Mosley also) between two good fighters. This is a dream matchup for boxing and true boxing fans.
