We got married at the courthouse on a Friday afternoon in one of the judge's offices. He was a friendly guy and there were pictures that his children had drawn taped to all of the walls. I don't think he got to marry many people; at any rate, he was very enthusiastic about the whole thing, and held a wonderful ceremony. We took a few snaps with the digital cam, and then I, my wife, and our witness repaired to the courthouse parking lot for a tailgater reception.
I wouldn't trade that day for anything. When it comes to weddings, the important thing is not that it be big or fancy; the important thing is that it be just right for you. Ours was.
