Check my haiku knowledge

I didn't mean for this short note to be a haiku when I first wrote it, just a e-mail before I go to sleep. But I realized that it kind of fit the form so I decided to shape it into one. Or at least what I know about Haiku's. The person who will be recieving it will know if something is off and I am horrible at counting syllables. Do I have it right? Here it is:

"It rained today
just like when in Oregon
it makes me miss you."

The main thing I am concerned about is, do I have the syllabul count right. I know it should be 5/7/5, and that's what I have counted, but I have a blind spot for syllables.
