You can activesync via network,
install the netcard in the PPC , get it all working, cradle it and sync it with the host pc via cradle, go into the settings, set network as once of the options to sync on, and uncradle it, in the settings on the ppc the name or ip address of the (PC)machine running activesync should appear.
dont do the initial sync while cradled as a guest though, do a full partner sync
ActiveSync is garbage though, so it might take some fiddling around.
