First, he only moved the team because Cleveland gave the Indians and Cavaliers new facilities but refused Modell's plans.
Second, Baltimore had the Colts stolen in an even worse way, and along with St. Louis were completely screwed over by Tagliabue in the 1993 expansion. We didn't want a stolen team, but when one came to us, we took it.
Third, this is Modell's last year as majority owner before he sells most of his remaining interest in the team to local man Steve Bisciotti.
He always mentions one fact whenever he talks about the move from Cleveland: he took the organization, but left the team. The colors, logos, records, etc. were left in Cleveland so they could recieve another team and keep the Browns traditions alive. Most peopel forget that. If he hadn't, the Baltimore Browns would've won the Super Bowl, and you'd be cheering for the Burning Lakes or something.
