Ok. I think that what is RIGHT would be giving Tim Hudson the cy young this year. He is clearly the most dominant pitcher this year. More dominant than Pedro. More dominant than Loiza. When Time Hudson starts, I believe that the A's are 24 and 5 or something at this point.
He deserves to beat loiza because, not only is he the best pitcher this year, but he has been probably the second most dominant pitcher in the AL (behind Pedro) for the last 4 years. In fact, though wins are hugely misleading (see Halladay's record with his blown up era), Tim hudson is the winningist pitcher in the league. In fact, Tim Hudson has the BEST WINNING PERCENTAGE EVER among pitchers with 50+ wins. Like I said, that can be misleading. What is not misleading is that Tim Hudson is a better pitcher than Halladay, slightly better than Loiza this year (though consistently better over time), and he has yet to get a cy young. His record of absolute dominance should reward him with the trophy. Loiza is a great story, coming from the minors as a nobody, but damn, give it to the man that destroys every team he faces EVERY year yet always seems to be overshadowed by Mulder and Zito. Mulder and Zito know who the best pitcher in the AL is. I just hope the rest of the league figures it out.
Hudson is about the only pitcher in the majors that can throw a complete game in 90 pitches.
He reminds me of greg maddux in his prime, but with a wicked splitter.

And no, Clemens is NOT even going to be considered for the cy young this year.
