If you bought it two weeks ago and mailed a check, figure that it could have taken up to 1 week for the check to get there, a few days to fill the order (more if they're waiting for the check to clear), and up to a week for the item to ship to you, so I'd say you're still within reasonable limits. It doesn't excuse the person from not replying to your emails. The most "cover your ass" thing to do would be to send an email requesting formally that they acknowledge receipt of your payment and an estimated ship date, and that if you don't hear back from them within 48 hours you'll stop payment on the check (which, technically, may cost more than the item you bought - usually around $25, so if you bought something cheap you might want to just let it slide; but use the "stop payment" thing as a threat anyhow) and report them to ebay. This is assuming that the check hasn't already cleared. If the check has cleared, you may be SOL but can report them to ebay and submit negative feedback.
