EBay Issue - What Should I Do?
I bought an item off EBay, about 2 weeks ago, and I got in contact with the person about payment information and stuff like that.
But, the person hasn't contacted me after this, and I've sent around 10 emails or so, should I email them one last time with a Message Header like "First Warning!" or should I wait a few more days. I've only had trouble with a person like this before, but I got it worked out with that person. Thanks. |

Your idea sounds good, give them a few warnings then tell them you are taking it to the ebay equivelent of theft prevention ( I cant remember what its called)
Its entirely possible they have a real reason for not responding such as a family emergency. Good luck. |

have you already paid for the item?
give it a few more days, then report it on ebay either way.

If you bought it two weeks ago and mailed a check, figure that it could have taken up to 1 week for the check to get there, a few days to fill the order (more if they're waiting for the check to clear), and up to a week for the item to ship to you, so I'd say you're still within reasonable limits. It doesn't excuse the person from not replying to your emails. The most "cover your ass" thing to do would be to send an email requesting formally that they acknowledge receipt of your payment and an estimated ship date, and that if you don't hear back from them within 48 hours you'll stop payment on the check (which, technically, may cost more than the item you bought - usually around $25, so if you bought something cheap you might want to just let it slide; but use the "stop payment" thing as a threat anyhow) and report them to ebay. This is assuming that the check hasn't already cleared. If the check has cleared, you may be SOL but can report them to ebay and submit negative feedback.

Contact eBay and have them call him.
I have recieved a few calls myself from eBay but that was because of anal retentive sellers who expect me to get them a money order in 3 days over the weekend. Its nothing harsh just a reminder call from eBay to let him know that his end of the deal needs to be met. If that doesnt work then I say continue with the emails. At least this way it shows put forth the effort to complete the transaction.

whatever you do, DONT wait too long!
My friend got screwed out of over $200 because some stupid kid in iowa didn't have packaging for the speakers he already paid for, then claimed he didn't have the money to pay back. We complained to ebay but by then it was too late. give him 48 hours to respond or you're contacting ebay and your lawyer. How much money are we talking here?
