a 10/22 is a little small for coyotes. for that you want at least a 22 magnum which ruger does make in the 10/22 style i think the modle is a 77/22 although the ammo can run about $6 to $8 per 50 rounds much more expensive than your plain 22 ammo. if it is just for plinking and squirles i would recomend the 10/22 if you are going after yotes go bigger
