I suggest just doing crunches, sit-ups and other ab excercises to get good abs. They aren't very hard at all and much more effective. From what I've read, though, they don't really do much for you. I asked my physical therapist about it and she pointed me to an article that basically said they are shit. btw, if you are somewhat over weight, you won't see your abs until you start losing some poundage. Get on the cardio for that. Don't waste the 50 bucks.
