Good to know he has such a well thought out reason.
I'm not a Giants fan, but I think Shockey has the tools to go far in this league, if he doesn't get his career ended by a cheap hit from a team he talked TOO much smack about. You're right, Gov, NY loves a loudmouth, when he plays for us (unlike John Rocker). They love when someone very smugly guarantees something, and then delivers (Namath, Messier). But there's a line that he needs to be very careful not to step over. Going after Bill Parcells, who coached two Giants teams to Super Bowls, turned the Jets around, and is a future Hall of Famer revered in New York, might not have been the best idea. I can't stand Mike and the Dog, so I'm not going to get too pissed off at him for standing them up, but he should at least have had the courtesy to break off his own deal with WFAN if he didn't want to do the show anymore. And if this reporter produces the tape, then Shockey better damn well have another Pro Bowl season and take the Giants into the playoffs and beat Dallas twice (in other words, back your shit up) or the media will run him out of town.
