People have a tendancy to turn off Notifications (back when there was still an option for it)
Then, they ignore the PM box.
If we force them to see alerts, then we are almost guaranteed of them seeing what is in the PM box.
REASON:
Back in the day, as I said, there was the option to get alerts or not. Back in the day, almost everyone would turn it to "off" for some reason.
Then, when a mod or someone had to get their attention, it went un-noticed. Thats why the alert is mandatory for all accounts.
