easy dude my main point was that maybe he should get some professional help and not just rely on a bunch of strangers who may or may not have his best interests at heart.
the part about being yourself not always being so great was kinda tongue in cheek. you wouldn't want to tell hitler or stalin or ted bundy to "just be yourself."
now i know our young friend is no where near those guys, but what i was saying is we all have the ability to change and improve. think back on what you were like 10 years ago. maybe if he got some professional advice he could improve his relationship skills, not by not being himself, but by growing into something better.
i was afraid you'd take my comments as an attack and they weren't meant in anyway to disparage your sage advice. just playing devils advocate and trying to find a solution through dialogue.
