Post Counts
I first found the TFP last May or so. I would go every so often but did not register. I was shy and did not want to input any personal data. I had never gone to chat rooms or discussion boards before. Then I got a web based E-mail address and signed up around July. After a brief period I found it was easy to post and my count rose quickly as I input my two cents into a lot of threads.
Over time, I felt like what I was going to post was not really adding anything to what was alread there, so I would just not post it. I was not really interested in piling up posts.
With the advent of TFP v 4.0 I am posting a lot more everyday and I really don't think it is just to accumulate a post count. I do want an avatar back because it makes it easier to find yourself in threads, but other than that, I am not that concerned. I think it is just easier to have something worthwhile to say when the threads are new again and fewer in number. It is also important to show appreciation to those who are creating threads for the TB.
Does anyone else feel the same way?
