I was always taught that it's much better to yell "Fire" rather than "Rape." Why? Rape is seen as a personal matter, tied into sex and all. (I know, I know, but I didn't say I agreed with it.) A fire threatens the entire community of nearby people, and they are more likely to follow the sound of your voice.
