i was just wondering why people develope different tastes in music. The question more relates to why we like certain music over others, would there be anything genetic about it?
or is it primarily an enviroment and upbringing influence.

I feel, sometimes, music tatse is also reflected from some personaility types/traits,
i guess the main one is that pop music generally = superficial and materialistic.

Also my final thought, was do you think poeple could be "conditioned" to like music? i feel such is the case with mainstream radio, but for anyone else, who has an open mind when it comes to art and music, do you think you could be conditoined to like something, or is there something genetic in us that doens't allow it?

sorry if this is a little disjointed, just a few whimsical thoughts.
