I'm pretty optimistic about the transformation to 3D.

Symphony of the Night was a lot (ALOT) like Super Metroid on the SNES... Both excellent games, but both very similar. Metroid Prime is basically a 3D version of Super Metroid, and I think it's excellent... So I think that a new 3D castlevania could be really cool.
