I've seen an LT1 in an earlier model 928. He ran sub 14's at the 1/4 and beat every pre-87 model there, including mine. The best I could do was 14.5 with crappy reaction times.
The guy with the LT1 went with that motor after the stock motor was neglected and ruined. A cheaper, faster replacement, but he can't find a mechanic to help him tune it now because of its hybrid set up.
Then again, he has a manual trans and I've got the auto. 928s as a rule are built for high speed cruising. Their gearing isn't conducive to off-the-line quick starts, but they'll crush most cars from 60-100 and top out over 150. The 87 models and up top out over 170.
They're quite good cars, even after so many years.
