Ive been working in bike shops on and off, and I started road biking and later racing to get into shape. Now Im doing triatholons, 2 years later.
Small changes first... I cant help you with the diet because I eat anything and everything (just lucky I guess), but as far as exercise, my best advice for you is - do it with a friend.
A friend will egg you on, get you going, and will make you compeditive. As you both progress together, you will both see improvements, and, of course, strengthen a friendship.
Thats all I got for you. It doesnt really matter what the excercise - start with easy cardios and light weights, then decide what you want, but definitely do it with a friend.
