Okay, here's the skinny.
I've put about six hours into it so far and here are my initial impressions.
The controls are actually pretty solid. One joystick for the camera and one for character control. The battle system is pretty cool as well. They call it real time turn based. Which means it's turn based, like all the classic RPGs, but it happens in real time, which is pretty neat. You issue commands in chunks and let them have at it. The one thing I really like is the pause before you actually do battle. It lets you scope out the enemy; equip the right tools; and get everything set up before you run right in and slice and dice.
I don't understand the finer points of the feats and skills stuff yet, but I'll work it out.
I'm currently playing both sides. I have a male scoundrel class working his way up the light side. And I have a male scout working his way up the dark side. Needless to say the dark side is much more fun....at least so far.
I haven't got very far with either side, yet, in fact, I've not even chosen a jedi class to follow.
I haven't run into any glitches, bugs, or annoyances of any kind; So far it's been a painless and extremely cool experience.
