I'm a huge fan of both personally. I basically started DJing because of DJ Shadow and others like him, but as I progressed, I became fascinated with groups melding live jazz, downtempo and electronica, like Thievery Corporation and Zero 7. I think the review is talking specifically to people who only follow one genre of techno. I, on the other hand, follow many.
