do small changes in your diet that you will be able to keep up, so that it's not too drastic. trying running, all you need is a good pair of shoes. if you can, just go out and buy a couple of dumbells, you can use them to do a bunch of basic exercises, and while they might not be heavy enough to really push yourself, you can build some good muscular endurnace. don't bother with trying any of the pills. get a good multivitamin, but don't try any of the fat reducers and such. i think most are placebo like, and those that do work at all, you still have to watch what you eat and exercise to get results.
