If you don't like how it is overplayed then I have a simple solution. Turn off your radio and watch another station. If everyone started doing that then radio / mm / mtv would go under and you would no longer have a problem.

However, this is a paradox. Without radio or television, fewer bands would be able to record as fewer cds would be sold.

So, we need to put up with it if we want to have 30,000+ new discs a year to choose from. I would be shocked if the number was half or even a third of that prior to mainstream media.
