I deal with health insurance companies daily.
Frankly, they are there to make money, not care for your needs. Vasectomy is not a necessary procedure- it is optional. Thus some companies won't cover it. However, most do cover it, as they'd rather pay the small price for a vasectomy than the much larger price for labor and delivery + 9 months of office visits.
BTW, I had em clipped last year. So nice not to have to worry about pregnancy after so many years of sweating it out and praying for a period!!
