This one's long, but I like it
(Chorus)
Look at the playground in our lives,
The swing movin' back and forth,
Merry-go-round goes round and round,
Hard to climb the slide and the ride is so quick.
But the swing seems to be stuck low,
And the merry-go-round doesn't seem to slow,
The slide's ladder feels a mile long,
All the rides broken down again!
(Verse One)
See a little ridin' on the swing?
She's just the world's little play thing,
Holdin' the chains tight and swingin' her legs,
Smile on her face and a light in her eyes.
Every time she goes higher and higher she flies,
But she goes back no matter how hard she tries,
So what's the point of even tryin' at all?
She crawls off with a frown and tears.
(Verse Two)
Wiping her face she gets on the merry-go-round,
Watches the world spin and giggles out loud,
Hangin' on tight at things pass by,
She feels weightless and starts to fly.
She wants to get off 'cause it's all too much,
Goes faster and faster as she starts to scream.
Was this rush really worth all the pain?
A ride that started so fun throws her off again.
(Verse Three)
Brushing herself off, she tries one last ride,
But this one has such a huge climb.
She gets to the top and the drop is so quick.
Fun for half a second, was it really worth it?
Tryin' again 'cause it was all so fast,
She wants the fun to last and last.
Doesn't the work seem to be too much?
To reach real joy seems to be a dream!
(Verse Four, change of style)
She's so tired, tired of those games she used to play,
Goin' back and forth, or round and round, or no where at all,
But when, I ask you, when will she grow up?
When will all the rides be over?

I'll post more if I get some feedback on these. Thanks for all comments coming (they're all welcome).
