They just started showing it here. First season. I watched the third episode on Saturday.
I have to agree with you on both counts. The writing is very good. It doesn't feel like a cop show with shoot 'em ups and the like. It is more about the day to day business of patrolling the streets and putting the bad guys away.
I like the fact that it gives equal time to the drug dealers and drug runners. The main characters are human, flawed.
I like how the pace too. It is quieter and has less exposition that consists of talking. You watch and find stuff out. Showing not telling.
One of better shows on TV I think.
