I hope I am posting in the right place.

I have a Power Mac G4 with OS 9.0. Recently, I went online to movies.com, and noticed that the website had messed with the appearance of my desktop. The next time I turned on the pc, the only resolution option in my monitor control board was 640 x 480, 60Hz.
I need the smaller resolution to run some of my programs, does anybody have any ideas how to get back to normal? I tried holding down the option and apple keys on reboot to rebuild the desktop, but no luck....
