Question about Mac monitor resolution
I hope I am posting in the right place.
I have a Power Mac G4 with OS 9.0. Recently, I went online to movies.com, and noticed that the website had messed with the appearance of my desktop. The next time I turned on the pc, the only resolution option in my monitor control board was 640 x 480, 60Hz. I need the smaller resolution to run some of my programs, does anybody have any ideas how to get back to normal? I tried holding down the option and apple keys on reboot to rebuild the desktop, but no luck.... Thanks T |

Something has happened to your video driver. Since you're using OS9, open the Extensions Manager and scroll through the list of both Control Panels and Extensions, looking for things that might should be on but aren't. Reboot and see if it's back to normal.
If not, figure out what kind of video card you have (System Profiler can do this) and go to the vendor website (eg ati.com) and see if you can download drivers for OS9. Good luck! |
