A guy I know taught me this push-up that he learned while he was in a state penitentiary.
Squat down with your ankles touching each other (your feet side-by-side). Now you measure four hand-lengths out from your feet. To do this, you put your palm on the ground with the wrist end of your hand touching the top of your toes. Take your second and put it in front of your other hand, touching.
Now at four hand-lengths away from your feet, put your hands side-by-side on the floor palms down with your index fingers touching and your thumbs touching, forming a a diamond or triangle shape.
Straighten out your legs. You don't have to lock your knees, but don't let them bend as you do this exercise. Lower your body until your nose is in the triangle/diamond that your hands are making and push-up!
If you are a weakling like me, you can start a few more handlengths out, but you want to eventually do the exercise at the four hand-length distance.
