Radio Monk is part right, sometimes dreams don't really mean anything. But sometimes they do. My English teacher took a very in-depth course in dream interpretation in college. I always take my dreams to him. Now I know that this is no help to you because I don't know what it says. But what I'm saying is, it most likely means something, but it may not mean nothing bad just because the dream was bad. It could be something so simple.
I have a dream where I have a serious car accident, and that is a nightmare my friend, and all it boiled down to was the choices I'm making in life right now.
So, just because it was a bad dream, doesn't mean you should worry about it. If I was guessing, and believe me dawg, I am, I would say it has something to do with an insecurity of yours. I say that because if you feel insecure, then that dream was a nightmare because it was like a bad fear coming true. But seriously, it probably has nothing to do with your friend, the girl, or your relationship with either. So don't worry about it.
But if you really wanna know, they have all kinds of books on the subject, just make sure you don't get one of those psychic type books in which dreams predict the future. Get one written by a psychiatrist that gives dream INTERPRETATIONS, not PREDICTIONS.
As you can see, this is a subject of interest for me.
