maybe you didn't think that's what you were doing, but by NOT saying anything to her, that's how it came off. I'm going to bet my bottom dollar that if you meet someone now, you'd probably do the same type of thing, hem and haw, shuffle your feet, and do all the dilly dallying, and then come off that same way.
